Being Present

My 4-year old loves to play with his farm, dinosaurs, cars, or lego. Whenever I am in the middle of the task, he will ask: “Can you PLAY?”. I will be preparing for a meeting, getting dinner ready, or getting my last tasks of the day completed and respond with a “not now”. However, the ‘No’ was not making me feel good. He has been wanting to be seen and heard. This is the way he likes to connect. Moving forward, even if it is 5-mins, I will spend the time with him. His questions made me realize that I have not been present. Here I am, in the NOW!

Where in your life can you be more present? Who or what is needing your attention?
